Leeds United plot loanee recall as Farke eyes role

Leeds United are weighing up a move to bring one of their own back into the fold, with plans already taking shape behind the scenes at Elland Road. The intention is clear: Daniel Farke wants to take a closer look at Largie Ramazani ahead of the club’s return to Premier League football.

The Belgian winger joined from UD Almería for close to €8 million in August 2024, at a time when Leeds were still pushing for promotion from the Championship. He made a solid impression in his first campaign, contributing seven goals and two assists across 31 appearances as the Whites secured their route back to the top flight.

Despite that progress, Ramazani was allowed to depart on a season-long loan to Valencia last summer. His time in Spain did not begin smoothly. An early struggle for rhythm was compounded by an injury in October that ruled him out until December, and he was forced to wait until February for his first La Liga start.

That opportunity came on the back of a decisive moment — a late winner against Espanyol in January — and since then he has featured far more regularly under Carlos Corberán. In total, he has managed five goals and two assists from 22 appearances, showing steady improvement as the season has unfolded.

Reports earlier this month suggested Valencia would be keen to keep him, although the absence of a purchase clause complicates matters significantly. Leeds, for their part, are now understood to be encouraged by his development. Their ‘primary objective’ is for him to return and play a meaningful role in the Premier League next season.

That said, a sale has not been ruled out. Should a strong offer arrive, Leeds would consider their position. For now, however, control rests firmly with the Yorkshire club, and Ramazani’s future appears increasingly tied to Elland Road once more.
