Celtic Open Torino Talks as Confidence Grows Over Deal for Versatile 22-Year-Old Attacking Midfielder

Celtic have stepped up their pursuit of Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitis after opening formal talks with the Italian club over a potential summer transfer.

According to The Scottish Sun, the Scottish champions are increasingly confident the 22-year-old Lithuanian is keen on a move to Glasgow as they continue shaping their squad ahead of the new season.

Strengthening the midfield has been a priority throughout the window, and Gineitis has emerged as one of the club’s leading targets. His versatility is understood to be a major attraction, with the youngster capable of operating in central midfield, as an attacking No.10 and on either flank.

Standing at 6ft 3in, Gineitis combines physical presence with impressive mobility and technical ability. Those qualities have helped him establish himself at Torino, where he has continued his development in one of Europe’s most demanding leagues.

Celtic believe he has the attributes to make an immediate impact while also fitting the club’s long-term recruitment model of signing young players with significant room for improvement.
