Rangers Fans Call for Immediate Sale After Dreadful Display Against Hibernian

Rangers are braced for a busy final day of the January transfer window, with one further arrival expected at Ibrox and the prospect of additional departures before the 11pm deadline.

The club have already moved decisively this month, completing three signings as Danny Rohl reshapes his squad. Denmark winger Andreas Skov Olsen arrived on loan from Wolfsburg, with the deal including an option to buy, while a combined £7million was invested in Danish midfielder Tochi Chukwuani from Sturm Graz and Belgian left-back Tuur Rommens from Westerlo.

There has been movement in the opposite direction too. Lyall Cameron and Findlay Curtis have joined Aberdeen and Kilmarnock respectively on loan until the end of the season, while Kieron Dowell completed a permanent switch to Hull City for an undisclosed fee.

That may not be the end of the exits. Defender Clinton Nsiala, who has struggled for minutes, is expected to join Westerlo on loan with an option to purchase. Brazilian striker Danilo could also depart before the window closes, although any move to NEC Nijmegen is likely to hinge on Rangers securing a replacement first. The 24-year-old has not started a match since December 11.

Rohl is keen to add a recognised number nine, with Yousseff Chermiti and Bojan Miovski having contributed just seven Premiership goals between them this season. A long-term option has already been lined up, with a verbal agreement in place for Hansa Rostock striker Ryan Naderi to arrive in the summer. The 22-year-old is eager for the move, but his German third-tier club are unwilling to sanction a January departure.

That has left Rangers exploring short-term solutions. Southampton forward Cameron Archer is a leading candidate, with a loan agreement in place should Saints succeed in finding a replacement for Adam Armstrong, who is expected to join Wolverhampton Wanderers. If that deal goes through in time, Archer could become the final addition of the window.

Failing that, Rangers may be forced into a late scramble, even if Rohl has played down the urgency.

“First, we will see what happens tomorrow,” Rohl said after the goalless draw with Hibs at Easter Road on Sunday. “If something happens, I’m happy. If not, I carry on with my group. They have done a good job so far; this is our job to do.”
