According to French journalist Nabil Djellit on X, Leeds are interested in Wolfsburg’s Mohamed Amoura and have been tracking him for some time. The 25-year-old Algerian is valued at around £27.7million by Transfermarkt, but Djellit notes that a deal “will not be straightforward” unless a dramatic twist occurs.

The urgency for Leeds is clear. Lukas Nmecha’s recent injury rules him out of the club’s upcoming fixture with Arsenal, highlighting the need for reinforcements in attack. Leeds’ previous £33million bid for Strand Larsen demonstrates they have the financial firepower to make Amoura an attractive proposition, but whether they act before the deadline remains uncertain.

Amoura presents a different attacking profile compared to the likes of Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Standing at just 5ft 7in, he could complement the taller forwards in a partnership rather than leading the line alone, giving Daniel Farke more tactical flexibility.

The Algerian has impressed since joining Wolfsburg, producing notable attacking statistics and demonstrating his quality in the Bundesliga. His versatility and pace could offer Leeds a fresh dimension up front, precisely what they need in a season where injuries have already tested their depth.
